First grade will prove to be a very exciting place to be! 

We will focus on learning and developing a variety of reading strategies and skills that will help your child become a better reader.  We will also explore a variety of writing genres and the following are just some of the pieces that your child will produce: Narrative stories, Functional writing, Reports and Poetry.  They will also learn and explore a wide range of hands-on math activities through the Math Investigations kits.  Each student will be challenged and each student will have the opportunity to learn through his or her own learning style.
